Having lunch at my parents’ place with my brother and his family, who also reside in town, is something we do around once a month. The sight of a large group of children joyfully playing and building memories at their grandparents’ house is something I will never forget because I did not spend my childhood in close proximity to my grandparents or relatives. Truly, it is invaluable!

As we sneak in the door, my mom generally has a dip or appetizer prepared to nibble on, and she always cooks a substantial lunch for us. Whenever her Crock Pot Buffalo Chicken Dip is piping hot and awaiting devourment, I can’t help but perform a little happy dance. Crunchy chips dipped in a hot, saucy, cheese dip are utterly enticing.

A Crock-Pot Recipe for Buffalo Chicken Dip :

When it comes to ideal hot dips, Buffalo Chicken Dip is currently on top. We use canned shredded chicken breast for this recipe, so there’s no need to cook or prep anything else before putting everything into the crock pot. You may use either a small (3 quart) or large (6 quart) crock pot. (Have faith in it before passing judgment!)

With the slow cooker, we don’t even need to grab an additional bowl, oven, or baking dish to heat up the ingredients. No problem!

On game days (it’s easier than buffalo chicken wings!), at the workplace picnic, and for any other occasion imaginable, this dip is a must-have.

This buffalo chicken dip recipe for the slow cooker is only somewhat spicy as written. My eldest, as well as my niece and nephew, who are all under the age of thirteen, can all inhale it without feeling any heat! Feel free to increase the heat by adding additional hot sauce, red chili pepper flakes, or buffalo sauce.

What You’ll Need:

This simple hot dip recipe calls for just five common household items, as I mentioned before.

  • Cheddar cream. You won’t be able to tell the difference when using full-fat cream cheese, so I prefer to use 1/3 less fat.
  • Cheddar cheese diced. The crock pot is the ideal melting pot for finely shredded Colby Jack cheese. Another fantastic option is sharp shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Garlic and Buffalo Wing Sauce. For those who are gluten intolerant, my preferred wing sauce brand is Frank’s Buffalo Wing Sauce. If you’d like it hotter, add more, or try a dash or two of Frank’s red hot sauce, which is also gluten-free.
  • Dipping Sauce. Any old ranch dressing will suffice for this dip; save the nice stuff for salads. My favorite ranch dressing is Ken’s. If you’d like a different flavor, blue cheese dressing is an option.

Poultry in a can. Have faith in. Believe me! The creamy, irresistible texture that results from shredding canned chunk chicken into this dip ensures that it will be more than alright. Swanson is the brand I use.

How to Keep Food Fresh and Reheat Leftovers

If you happen to have any leftover dip, you can easily reheat it in the microwave by scooping it into a glass container (just so you know, plastic containers could get stained from the wing sauce).

This dip has also been slow-cooked, cooled, then reheated in the crock pot after a few days. So, you can definitely prepare this in advance and let it simmer.

Five Creative Ways to Use Up Excess Food

Buffalo Chicken Dip: A Crock-Pot Recipe
To reiterate, all you need to do is toss everything into your crock pot, give it a good swirl to mix, and then turn it on low and simmer. To make things easier, let the cream cheese cool to room temperature.

In a 3-quart crock pot, simmer, stirring periodically, on LOW for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.
