Shrimp seasoned with Garlic and Chilli from Asia

An easy dish for prawns that packs a powerful punch of flavor! After eating these Asian Chilli Garlic Prawns, you will feel as if you have just eaten in a high-end contemporary Thai restaurant. These prawns are seared and covered in a spicy and sticky Asian sauce. They will leave you smacking your lips in complete and absolute enjoyment.

The sauce has the flavor of handmade chili jam, except from the fact that it is much simpler to prepare. 15 minutes, from the beginning to the end!

A quick dish for prawns that packs a powerful flavor!

Even if I like a traditional Chinese-style prawn stir fry with its clean and consistent flavors, or the heart-stopping (in more ways than one) fried and sweet goodness of Honey Prawns, there are times when I find myself wanting for a punch in the face (in terms of flavor, that is!).

My experience at a contemporary Thai restaurant, where I had a wonderful dish called Stir Fried Prawns in Chilli Jam, inspired me to come up with this recipe for prawns. I am not able to make sweets at home on a whim, but when it comes to savory foods, I typically have a good chance of coming relatively close to doing the same thing.

There was a time when I was going to attempt to recreate it by utilizing a recipe for homemade chilli jam, but then I became lazy. Instead, I attempted to replicate the same flavors by combining a little amount of this, a small amount of there, a dash of this, and a splash of that.

And what, exactly, exactly, do you know about this? It turned out with a great flavor. Really, really delicious, and it’s quite similar to making this using homemade chili jam, but it’s a lot simpler and quicker to make at home. 🙂

The sauce is simply a Chilli Jam that can be made in a short amount of time, and it really is mouthwateringly delicious!

I would want to assure you that I am not exaggerating when I claim that this dish tastes exactly like the spicy stir fries that are served in contemporary Asian restaurants. The sauce has a wide variety of ingredients that are often used in Asian cuisine, but I am not going to claim that this meal is really Asian since it is probably not a stir fry that is traditionally made in Asia.

A recipe for Asian Chilli Garlic Prawns (Shrimp) using the following ingredients:

A dish that takes twelve minutes to prepare
There is nothing more disheartening than putting a large, plump, and juicy-looking prawn in your mouth, only to discover that it is rubbery and dry.

Consequently, in my opinion, every single dish for prawns has to be a rapid recipe because, if you don’t, the prawns will end up being overcooked. And these Asian Chilli Garlic Prawns are a perfect example of what you’re looking for. This is how the situation unfolds:

For a period of five minutes, chop or grate the ginger and garlic, then measure out the components for the sauce.

  • Two batches of prawns should be seared for a total of four minutes.
  • To make the sauce syrupy, simmer it for two minutes.
  • Reintroduce the prawns and wait one minute.
  • The whole duration of time is twelve minutes.

A helpful hint: pull the rice out of the oven first, since it takes much more time than this recipe!

In the first couple of years after I launched this website, I was a complete and utter prawn snob. I insisted that everyone peel their own prawns and declared that frozen prawns were just not the same compared to fresh ones. This opinion was arrived at after many years of experiencing frozen prawns that were of a substandard quality throughout my adolescence.

Finding out that frozen prawns have gone a long way in their time has been a really happy discovery to make! It is true that some are superior than others, but even the more affordable ones, such as Aldi and Costco, are still of a very high quality.

However, I continue to peel fresh prawns for guests. But when it comes to day-to-day activities, I am completely obsessed with frozen prawns, and I am completely in control of it!

What may be served as a side dish?

In order to really absorb that heavenly sauce, serve it over rice. Cauliflower Rice, on the other hand, is a nutritious low-carb alternative that has 77% less calories and 87% fewer carbohydrates than rice.

Your dinner might benefit from the addition of some greens; here are some suggestions:

The Asian Slaw is very crisp and delightfully fresh!

As an alternative, you may use any steamed Asian greens, green beans, or snow peas. Restaurant-style Chinese Broccoli with Oyster Sauce is another option.

Have fun!
